The desire to write
To bring words to life, sometimes without a plan
To express words like few others can
Intricately weaving them together – letter by letter, word by word
Boldly, with no fear of sounding absurd.
Words forming sentences, and sentences paragraphs
Words to bring tears, reason or just a laugh
To evoke fear, stir up passion, share a vision
To tear down, create chaos or spread division.
Oh, such satisfaction it is when finally done
When it all comes together as one
Task finished, work completed, esta terminado
Joy building up like a crescendo.
But lo, there is but one thing I must be wary of
The killer of great ideas, number one creativity turn off
There may be many more yes, but this one I know for sure
It’s that dreaded d blinking thing on a plain white page, yes, the Cursor.
Innocent looking, practically harmless, continuously blinking
I cant keep my eyes off you, even though I feel my ideas sinking
In and out you go in my face, non-stop you wink at me
Cursor, oh cursor! Please let me be.
